Hi, I’m Tom Rutt — a cybersecurity analyst with hands-on expertise in Azure Cloud Security, Identity and Access Management, and enterprise security operations. I focus on uncovering threats, investigating incidents, and strengthening organizational resilience across cloud and hybrid environments.

Currently, as a Cyber Security Operations Analyst, I respond to incidents, triage alerts, and investigate suspicious activity across complex enterprise systems. My experience spans Security Operations, Azure and Entra ID security, PAM, App Control, and data-driven analysis, giving me a strong balance of technical depth and strategic insight.

Key projects include:

• Privileged Access Management (PAM) – providing business and data analysis to secure critical access pathways.
   
• Enterprise Entra ID Hardening – reducing identity risk in the cloud and improving organizational hygiene.
   
• Application Control (AppLocker) Rollout – implementing policy-driven application whitelisting to strengthen endpoint security.
   

These experiences strengthened my skills in detection, response, and cloud security engineering, while deepening my understanding of policy, governance, and risk.

I am now focused on advancing into Cloud Security Engineering, combining technical analysis, forensic methods, and strategic insight to secure cloud environments, improve detection and response, and support evidence-based decision-making. Outside work, I’m passionate about learning AI, Cloud Security and IOT Pentesting. 

I also post Instagram and YouTube content related to my journey in a more personal light, which I use to share my experiences and hopefully help others.
